"Indexable Pages" includes the text. introductions, and any appendices that supplement the text. Front matter, including title page, dedications, epigraphs, lists of illustrations and tables, table of contents, and acknowledgements are not indexable. A preface or forward may be indexed if it includes the subject of the work, but not if it simply describes how or why the book was written. Substantive notes that elaborate on the details in the text may be indexed as well.
